What is Tamoxifen Citrate?

Tamoxifen Citrate is a drug that is used to treat breast cancer. It works by blocking the action of estrogen in the body, in turn affecting the growth of certain types of breast cancer cells that depend on estrogen for growth. Tamoxifen Citrate is typically taken on a daily basis for up to five years in order to reduce the risk of breast cancer recurrence.

Nolvadex in bodybuilding. How it is used?

Nolvadex is a selective estrogen receptor modulator (SERM) that is popular among bodybuilders. It is most commonly used during the post cycle therapy period following anabolic androgenic steroid use, to mitigate estrogenic side effects that may have occurred during the cycle. It is used to counter the effects of water retention and bloating caused by certain steroids, and can be used as a post cycle therapy drug to restore the body's natural testosterone production after a cycle is finished. It can also be used in the beginning of a cycle to reduce the chances of estrogenic side effects. Some bodybuilders also use Nolvadex as a preventative supplement during their cycle, due to its anti-estrogenic properties.
Nolvadex (tamoxifen citrate) should generally be taken during a steroid cycle or after the last dose of the steroid. You should use Nolvadex at 10mg to 20mg per day for the duration of the steroid cycle and should start taking it approximately two weeks after your last dose of the steroid. You may start Nolvadex even after the anabolic steroid cycle is complete and wait until the drug has cleared your system. Nolvadex shuts down the production of estrogen and helps to restore natural hormone balance.

Tamoxifen Citrate Side Effects

Like any other drug, Tamoxifen Citrate has some side effects associated with its use. The most common side effects include nausea, hot flashes, night sweats, and an increase in liver enzymes. Other potential side effects include weight gain, headaches, and changes in libido. Prevention of these side effects can be accomplished by following the doctor's instructions and by taking any necessary dietary or lifestyle modifications. In addition, it is important to monitor liver values when taking Tamoxifen Citrate, as liver damage can occur.

Tamoxifen Citrate Dosage

The typical dose of Tamoxifen Citrate (Nolvadex) in a steroid cycle is 20-40mg per day. While some users may take it in higher doses, it is not recommended. Generally, it is taken for the duration of the cycle and/or as part of a Post Cycle Therapy (PCT).
